Beauty News: Anti-Ageing Perfume

Beauty News: Anti-Ageing Perfume

Phtoto by pure9 at Flickr.com
If you care about the way you look and strive to look young - be careful how you smell! Rose is a no-no, grapefruit and apples are the right choice! Cosmeticsdesign-Europe.com reports that fragrance designer Harvey Prince has launched a new scent in the European market that makes other people perceive you as being much younger than you really are.

This new anti-ageing sensation is based on several studies. A study made in 200 showed that that women in their 40s and plus have more than twice increased levels of “2-Nonenal – which is associated with a ‘grassy, greasy’ odour – as well as higher levels of Omega 7 and lipid peroxides”.

Another study conducted by the Smell and Taste Research Foundation in 2005 revealed that “grapefruit-based scent is associated with a younger age group”. And finally a study conducted by Rutgers team for Harvey Prince, involving fifteen men in five age groups (starting from 20 to 60 plus) found that “the rose was most associated with older age groups and apple fragrance was most associated with younger age groups”

Harvey Prince says it used the research findings to create a scent that best masks odours associated with older age groups. But of course, the exact formula of the new fragrance is a HUGE and closely guarded secret. All we know is that the perfume combines pink grapefruit, pomegranate, jasmine, mango and soft must… Here you have it - now you can smell younger! The anti-ageing perfume is called “Ageless Fantasy”. And the name is true - it is just a fleeting fantasy… remember to keep refreshing it!

I love this video clip from Ellen Degeneres show - beauty recommendations are definitely based on those 2005 studies…. They didn’t know then that the rose scent is actually associated with an older age.

    Bear With Me …
Since my days of regular blogging have long past and I am nearly six months away from my three times per week posts, I have discovered that my fragrance sample cabinets and baskets are desperately bare. Therefore, in order to provide you with up-to-date and timely information, I am awaiting a few packages in the mail! Please bear with me as I anxiously await more subjects for review and writing.

In the meantime, this is what I was doing this past weekend - celebrating our growing baby!

    Cinnamon

CinnamonCinnamon is the inner bark of a tropical evergreen tree and is native to India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal. Cinnamon bark is widely used as a spice. Its typical flavor is due to an aromatic essential oil that makes up 0.5% to 1% of its composition. Cinnamon has a sweet taste. It can be ground into powder too. Cinnamon consists of fats, carbohydrates, ash, fibre, iron and phosphorus.

A decoction of cinnamon is good for coughs and colds. For acne and headaches, cinnamon powder paste can be applied. It is also excellent as a mouth freshener. Cinnamon oil is used in cosmetic industry for producing heating and tonic means. You can use any recipe here to value fine cinnamon qualities.

Body scrubs. Mix in 2 teaspoons black pepper and cinnamon; add some olive oil and 1 teaspoon salt. This scrub cleanses skin and stimulates blood flow. Also it is very useful for people, who want to get more effect from physical exercises.
For deep cleansing of body skin you can prepare scrub from a glass sugar, half a glass olive oil and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Mix everything carefully and put on the body with massage movements.

Cinnamon hands soak. This soak will leave your hands (or even feet!) silky soft, and slightly scented with cinnamon. You need 2 cups water, 1 cup milk, 1/2 tablespoon olive oil, a pinch cinnamon. Mix all ingredients in a microwave-safe bowl large enough to fit both of your hands. Put the bowl in the microwave for 20 seconds, or until the mixture is quite warm, but still comfortable to touch. Soak your hands in the mixture for 10 minutes. When you are done soaking, take your hands out, rinse them briefly with lukewarm water, and pat dry. Add your favorite moisturizer if desired.

Apple and cinnamon face pack. It is an antiseptic mask for use on oily or problem skin. You need ripe apple, peeled and grated,
