Good all round shaverJuly 30, 2010 R. G. Smith I have no real complaints with this razor. It gives a quick, easy painless shave. It's battery life is excellent and it's quiet. Obviously it can't give quite as close a shave as a manual razor and it's clipper feels a little chintzy.

The Best Electric Razor ... EverJuly 15, 2010 Benjamin Rose(RAF Lakenheath) This is a wonderful electric razor. I have been shaving for 13 years and this was my third Norelco. The only time I ever used a disposable razor was during basic training. I am in Afghanistan right now and someone stole this one while I was in the shower, and my wife sent me a Remington to replace it. I loved the battery life (this one is rated in days, while the Remington is rated in minutes), the quiet motor (my wife is a light sleeper), the ability to use it while it's plugged in (which the Remington is unable to do), the quality of the design (the blades don't fall off during use, unlike the Remington), and best of all ... the car charger (which the Remington didn't have, not that it would matter because you can't use the Remington while it's pluggerd in). Talk about genius. I normally work night shift, but on the rare occaision that I work day shift, it's nice to shave on the way to work. Those 5-10 extra minutes of sleep are so nice. It was a Christmas present from my wife, to replace the Norelco that I got as a wedding gift 6 years ago. I love this razor, and after trying Remington, I will forever remain loyal to Norelco. Unless Sony were to make electric razors, but then again I am a huge Sony whore, so ...
Norelco IS the best!July 10, 2010 G. Sopher(Chitown) Finally!! A replacement for my 10 yr old Norelco 5603X, which by the way is still giving me 3-4 30 minute shaves per charge, but I know it won't be long before they (10 yr old NiCads) finally give up the ghost. That shaver has been such a pleasure to use over the years, with only 3 cutter replacements, I may just pay to have the batteries replaced and keep it as a backup. But back to this 7810 shaver, it looks like the replacement for my old model, and is priced at exactly the same amount. It's much lighter and much more quiet, which I like a lot. Also, the blinking light when the charge is complete is very handy....I have to watch the clock with my old one...but the head assembly seems to be a bit "cheaper". But I look forward to as many years of comfortable, close shaves with this model as I've had with my old one. If you recognise my name, you know I bought a Remington a while back and have since trashed it!! Norelco, in my book, is the only shaver to own! I would recommend this shaver to anyone looking for a moderately priced, dependable shaver. Another observation of note is that one reviewer thinks it's great to be able to plug this shaver in and "shave and charge" at the same time...this is NOT the case. The booklet clearly states that it "does not charge" if it's "on" while plugged in. And also that doing so will effect the battery life...just so you're aware of this.
Great RazorJuly 8, 2010 T. Elder This is my first electric, i've been using blades ever since I started shaving. I have odd facial hair in that it grows in about 10 different directions, so blades required multiple passes and often left me with razor burn and in grown hairs.
From day one it was more convenient and less irritation and now that my skin has completely adjusted it is night and day how much better this is.
