Item not as advertisedSeptember 9, 2010 kdropick Osis Dust It is an amazing product. However, that's not what I received. The 2 bottles had been opened and filled with something that smelled like powdered sugar. It may have looked like the original thing, but it absolutely wasn't. I would not recommending ordering from this seller again.
Bought to use as a dry shampoo- did not do it for me....September 6, 2010 Rob & Roxanne(On Amazon!!) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have very long hair that needs to be washed daily- otherwise my hair looks greasy and gross. Sometimes, if I am running late and only have time for a shower in the morning and not to wash my hair (it takes an additional 20 mins or so for me when I wash my hair-- to comb and dry it-- not even including styling it)- plus its not the best for hair to be washed daily. I found this and I read the reviews and everything- thought this was my answer, to make my "dirty" hair not look so dirty.
I used just a tiny bit on my roots, I followed directions and tips from other reviewers-
It did NOT make my hair look any less oily. So, because I was running late I put my hair back in a pony and that was it. It did keep fly aways under control, but thats about it.
I tried it a couple of other times just playing around with it just to see if it will work like I expected it to, and it didnt.
I gave the rest of the bottle (which is still practically full) to my sister who has even longer and thicker hair than me, she said she doesnt see a difference either- but she said she uses it to give her roots a boost.
So, I am giving this a 2 star because I bought this to use as a dry shampoo and it did not do what I wanted.
I am probably going to try another brand- or I should just make sure I wake up on time so I can get my hair washed in the morning (or just do it the night before)
don't waste your moneySeptember 3, 2010 Hip Mama(Clearwater Beach,FL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This stuff comes in such a teeny tiny bottle, I can't believe I paid over $9 for it.
It doesn't work. It's weird. It's like wet powder. I sprinkled it on my hands and rubbed it onto the hair at my scalp and I didn't notice a marked difference. I also tried sprinkling it directly on my roots, and that didn't do much of anything either. Later during the day, I felt my scalp and it had tiny balls of powder on it. My hair also feels very stiff and dry.... and looks messy & gross. What a waste. I am a busy mom and thought this would save me on days that I don't have time to wash my hair in the morning. I may try a dry shampoo spray instead.
Fabulous for Faux-HawksSeptember 2, 2010 amandaintoned 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have never used a better product. For years, I've struggled with thin, oily, limp hair. I wash it every day to combat the oil--which, ironically, makes it worse--and have tried every single volume-boosting-thickening-mattefying-whatevery available to give it some "oompf." I have to keep my hair super short, otherwise my face breaks out, so I usually style it in a faux-hawk with 50's-style blunt fringe. I had been using TIGI products with ho-hum results to achieve this look. My hair would look excellent in the morning, but flat and greasy by lunch time. I started giving up on style and going for scarves and hats. I had even considered shaving it off entirely and going with a wig.
This is the miracle product. Two dashes on either side of my hawk and I can't even run my fingers through it, but not in a bad way. It's as though every hair follicle doubled in size and halved in oiliness. I can brush it out and fluff it up over and over without it becoming a greasy mess. It stands right up, no back-combing, no blow-drying opposite the shaft, no hairspray, no mess. I put some in my hair yesterday and am still able to style it perfectly today, which is the first time in a long time I haven't had to wash my hair. I think this must be a kind of dry shampoo in addition to styling product. I reiterate, my skin and scalp are the cure to our oil crisis; to FINALLY find a product compatible with that issue is absolutely fantastic.
If you've tried everything, give this a try. My only suggestion is to use sparingly and not buy it from ULTA. I spent $22 on the same sized bottle in the store, whereas it's up here for $10. I feel like an idiot, but then again, I didn't have to wait for it to ship, so it's a decent trade-off. Try it out in the store when no one's looking to see if it's for you before ordering it. If you already have thick or dry hair, I wouldn't recommend it--maybe only as a boost if your hair greases up throughout the day. But my thin, fine, limp, oily-haired brethren: rejoice! You, too, can have luscious locks.
(I also use Nixion 4 Cleanser and Conditioner, and Nixion Root Boost before blow-drying with a round brush and adding this powder. PERFECTION!)
Amazing product!!September 1, 2010 L. K. Peterson(Seattle, WA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have super short hair and have always struggled with product. This stuff makes my hair look great with little to no effort. I don't really know what this stuff is, but what I do know is that it sucks the moisture out of my hair allowing me to do whatever I want with it. It makes your hair feel strange and is difficult to wash out, but don't let that deter you - it is a phenomenal breakthrough in hair-product technology.
