I got the Proactiv Solution Refining Mask as a freebie with my purchase of a 90 day 5-step system, and for awhile, I was really happy with it. Although applying this mask as a spot treatment on my blemishes did not provide the "and my pimple totally disappeared overnight" effect that many customers swear by in the commercial; it did succeed in drying up my acne, relieving any active zits of their redness, and generally accelerating the rate at which they healed. However, when I applied this as a mask to my entire face and left it on for the recommended 10 minutes, it completely tore up my skin. It was extremely itchy, covered in small white bumps and big red blotches. A few of my friends had a similar experience, and we all decided that we must be sensitive to the active ingredient in the Proactiv Solution Refining Mask: Sulfur. This mask smells very unpleasant--just like sulfur--and I cannot consciously recommend this product after my own negative experience. However, I am not discounting this product as unworthy. A lot of people have had success with it, and I am sure that it is not a "bad" product. But I don't think that it would benefit very sensitive skin types, as sulfur can cause more harm than good.
Pro Active MaskAugust 8, 2010 ginger(S. Georgia) Great product...does what it advertses. Add a little to a pimple before and what a big difference in the morning...pimple is much smaller. I will buy this product again.
Excellent dealAugust 6, 2010 kbell I really love the proactiv refining mask, but I didn't want the whole product line. I was happy to see that I could order it by itself and for such a great price. Only $5 total for product, as shipping was included! Plus it was delivered in 2 days! Very happy customer! :-)
A most effective spot treatment for blemishes.July 21, 2010 Mindhaunt(Northeast TN, USA) This refining mask is (for me) far too strong to apply to my entire face, which is neither sensitive nor oily.
However, it works wonders when used as a spot treatment for those stubborn pimples that do appear from time to time.
I recommend this to everyone who has experienced these annoying pimples.
Within a couple of days, those ugly things are dried up and well on their way to complete healing.
Great Product!June 27, 2010 KBS After spending tons of money on a pricier Rx version, this product does the same thing. Works well to help fight acne and keep your skin looking good. It is not as thick and dries easier than the Rx version I had as well. I would recommend this product to anyone.
